The NFL had a whirlwind day yesterday. Let's break it all down:
1. JAY CUTLER RELEASED: MIKE GLENNON IS THE NEW QB OF CHICAGO BEARS
The Jay Cutler error in Chicago is officially over. The Bears released Cutler after signing Mike Glennon to a three year $48 million contract. Jay Cutler was much maligned in Chicago, with only one NFC Championship game appearance, a loss to Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay in 2011. Where will Jay Cutler end up? Will he follow through on a threat to retire? I doubt it. Perhaps a team like the New York Jets or San Francisco takes a flyer on Cutler as a backup QB.
2. BROCK OSWILER TRADED TO BROWNS: WHAT WILL TEXANS DO NEXT?
Another era ended in the Houston Texans traded Brock Oswiler to the Cleveland Browns after one season. Oswiler took his team to the AFC Divisional Round, where they lost to New England and the eventual Super Bowl Champion Patriots. This leaves a huge question mark for Houston at QB. Tom Savage is the tentative starter. Will Tony Romo head to Houston so he can stay in Texas? Lots of interesting possibilities for Houston Texans fans. So glad I did not buy a Brock Oswiler jersey!
