ST LOUIS CARDINALS: The St Louis Cardinals have been the class of the National League Central since Tony La Russa was their manager. This continues now with Mike Matheny as the new manager. The Redbirds made it back to the World Series last year before falling to the Red Sox. They traded away 3B David Freese to the Angels for OF Peter Borjos.
PITTSBURGH PIRATES: The Pirates really put it all together last season with 94 wins, as OF Andrew McCuthen showcased his skills to the world. PNC Park is perhaps the most beautiful ballpark not named Wrigley. Can the Pirates shock Baseball again?
CHICAGO CUBS: When a 66-96 team does not make a single significant improvement in the offseason, that is when you know "Wait till Next Year, Cubs fans." Jorge Soler, Albert Almora, and Javier Baez are coming, maybe late 2015 at the earliest. Until then, expect the non-contending Cubs to be sellers at the deadline yet again this year.
CINCINNATI REDS: The Reds have a new manager, promoting Pitching Coach Bryan Price to manager and canning Dusty Baker. OF Billy Hamilton is finally in the big leagues. Can he get on base enough to steal 100 in the Major Leagues? OF Jay Bruce and 1B Joey Votto are perhaps the best 1-2 punch in the entire National League.
MILWAUKEE BREWERS: Ryan Braun comes back this season. Was his previous seasons a Performance Enhanced Mirage? The Brewers are trying to be competitive, signing former Rangers and Cubs ace SP Matt Garza.
DIVISION WINNER: Cardinals.
