Here are my thoughts on day one of the NFL Draft, in no particular order.
Dez Bryant: The next NFL Superstar
The Dallas Cowboys made a fantastic move in picking up Dez Bryant with the 24th pick in the NFL draft. Jerry Jones apparently still loses sleep at night over the fact he didn't draft Randy Moss in 1998 due to "character issues." Bryant is a pure physical specimen, much like Moss when he came out of college. Great pickup by The Cowboys.
It was a suprise to see who came after Bryant with the 25th Pick...
God Bless Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow has taken a lot of heat lately. He's taken heat for his "pitching motion" type delivery. He has also taken a lot of heat for his unapolegetic faith. Tebow has since reformed his delivery. Tebow claims he lost some endorsements when he did that Super Bowl Ad, but he says it was a small price to pay.
I wonder if Kurt Warner had gone to the NFL Draft, if he would have been treated the same way some folks are treating Tim Tebow.
The reason he went #25: Josh McDaniels had to pick him up before Bill Bellichick would get him.
I heard somebody say that Tim Tebow would be a Super Bowl Champion in the NFL. It seems like the feel good story of Tebow will continue.
Expect Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning to dominate your TV Set this NFL Season with countless comercials.
Lions get Some Defensive Help
The Detroit Lions drafted Ndamukong Suh out of Nebraska. The Lions are starting to build up their defense. Good move, especially when you consider the Lions face great QBs in Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, and Jay Cutler in their own division.
Is Sam Bradford Damaged Goods?
I know Sam Bradford was considered the purest QB on the boards, but I still can't get past the fact that Bradford suffered not one, but two injuries to his throwing shoulder. I know the surgery is supposed to make him good as new, but with the lack of an offensive line in St Louis, Rams fans better keep their fingers crossed.
Clausen, Colt Still on board due to McNabb?
Day one of the NFL draft passed with Jimmy Clausen out of Notre Dame and Colt McCoy out of Texas still on the board. I wonder if the reason Clausen or McCoy are still on the board is due to the fact that Donovan McNabb is now a Redskin. If I had a choice between a young 20 year old QB and a 33 year old QB who may be in the worst shape of his career, I would take the 20 year old QB.
