The New Jersey Nets fired coach Lawrence Frank Sunday after losing their first 16 games during one of the worst starts in NBA history. Assistant Tom Barrise will coach the team Sunday night in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
The Nets have lost their stars Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, and now, Vince Carter. I don't see the Nets beating the Lakers tonight, though.

Cy Young Award Updates
Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants has won his second consecutive NL Cy Young Award. Lincecum finished 15-7 with a 2.48 ERA for a San Francisco Giants team that had trouble scoring runs this year!
Lincecum finished just behind Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright of the Cardinals!
Zack Grienke of the Kansas City Royals has won the American League Cy Young Award. Grienke finished 16-8 with a 2.16 ERA for a Horrible Kansas City Team! To think, Yankees fans wanted CC Sabathia to win this award! The Yankees were only Baseball's best team!
Grienke finished behind Felix Hernandez of the Mariners and Justin Verlander of the Tigers.

Coach Bellichick's Gamble
Obviously, the talk of this Monday Morning has been That Colts-Patriots Game Last Night.
Here's the Situation:
It's a fourth and two. You lead 35-28. You have a fourth and two. If you don't get it, you give the NFL's Best Field General A Thirty Yard Field instead of a 70 yard field.
What do you do? What did Coach Bill Bellichick Do?
He went for it.
Peyton Manning then leads the Colts down the field for the win, includng that unbelievable catch by Reggie Wayne for the Win!
Back to the call by Bellichick to go for it, As a coach, you have enough faith in the team to say "Surely, My Team can get Two Yards!" And, If Kevin Faulk does not Bobble the ball, The Patriots have a First down! Let's not forget in year's past, The Colts had a great offense, but they had a horrible defense! Let's say The Patriots get that first down, they have a first down at the thity one, and the Patriots would have been able to pad on to that six point lead.
So Many Bloggers and analysts are Monday Morning Quarterbacking with this call. This was a good agressive call that did not pan out.

The Ricketts family talks about the Wrigley Field Experience and what their plans are as owners of the Cubs.
As a Cubs fan, I am excited by the new owners. They are true fans of the team, and they plan to reinvest their money into the team and Wrigley Field.

Yankees Win 27th World Series Championship
Hideki Matsui tied a World Series record with six RBIs as the New York Yankees won their 27th championship with a 7-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Hal Steinbrenner talks about the Yankees winning the World Series.
Well, the New York Yankees are back where they are used to being..On top of the baseball world! This World Series was way better than the one from last year, with Baseball's best team beating the defending World Series Champions. This was an incredible six game series! Congrats to guys like A-Rod, Hideki Matsui, C.C. Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, and Mark Teixiera for finally getting to become World Champions!
To the Phillies, they played a great series and should not be too dissapointed. What a class act by Charlie Manuel, congratulating the Yankees for winning it all.
Congratulations to the New York Yankees on their 27th World Series Championship!
