Bobby Cox Gets One Year Extension, Will Retire In 2010
Bobby Cox has agreed to a one year extension for the 2010 season.
Cox will retire following the 2010 season, where he will become a consultant to advise the Braves in baseball operations.
There was talk of both Bobby Cox hanging it up after this season and Chipper Jones retiring in 2010, but following this news, I expect Chipper to retire after the 2010 season.
I expect the Braves to fight long and hard to win one more division title, one more World Series title for Bobby Cox.
Bobby Cox has managed the Braves since 1990. Cox led Atlanta to fourteen straight postseason appearances and to the 1995 World Series Championship.
