Thirtieth Anniversary of Disco Demoltion Night

Two days ago marked the 30th anniversary of Disco Demolition Night. The promotion was held by the Chicago White Sox on July 12, 1979 at Comiskey Park. Disco records were exchanged for cheaper admission to a double header with the Detroit Tigers. Between games the disco records were blown up resulting in fans storming the field, lighting fires, and rioting.
Here are some local news reports from the Disco Demolition Night that night. Keep your eyes open for a Greg Gumbel sighting!

I don't know if that was worse than "Ten Cent Beer Night" though.
