Kitna Sent To Dallas
The Detroit Lions have traded Quarterback Jon Kitna to the Dallas Cowboys, according to NFL.Com.
UPDATE: 5:30 PM: In exhange for Kitna, the Cowboys sent cornerback Anthony Henry to Detroit.
Chiefs Go Two For One
Bill Pioli was in the Patriots front office for many years before moving onto Kansas City.
He will have two players from the Patriots in Kansas City.
The Patriots traded linebacker Mike Vrabel and Quarterback Matt Cassell to the Chiefs in exchange for their second round draft pick.
This is a great trade on both sides of the ball. Vrabel can be a productive player for a couple of more seasons and the Chiefs will no longer need to draft a Franchise Quarterback.

Handy Manny Gets An Offer
The wait is over: Manny Ramirez may finally get a deal he likes.
A source to ESPN is reporting the deal is for two years and $45 million dollars. Manny would earn $25 million in that first season.
ESPN's Jason Stark breaks down the contract.
The biggest thing I am suprised at is that it took this long for Manny Ramirez to get a contract. If I was the GM of a team, I look at how Manny Ramirez single handedly destroyed the Chicago Cubs in the NLDS and say "I don't care how much he costs or what he does. We will sign Manny."
I am suprised that no teams other than the Dodgers made Manny Ramirez an offer.
The only question now is: Will Manny take this offer?

MLB Preview: NL East
The Mets have a new Ballpark and New Closer. Will they finally win end the pain of two consecutive seasons out of the playoffs?
The NL East was very familiar in 2008. The Phillies repeated as division champions, the Mets repeated their chokejob. Hanley Ramirez continued to become a great young star, and the Washington Nationals were the place where Ryan Zimmerman continued his development.
NEW YORK METS
The biggest Achilles heel for the New York Mets last season was the fact that their bullpen could not hold any leads, helping the Mets lose the division for the second straight season. The Mets have finally decided they have had enough. They went out and signed record setting closer Francisco Rodriguez to contract, and then traded for J.J Putz from Seattle to become New York's new Setup man. The key for the Mets will be: How tired are they of choking away the division for the last two seasons? I think we will see guys like David Wright, Carlos Delgado, and Carlos Beltran with fire in their eyes this season.
WASHINGTON NATIONALS
The Washington Nationals now have a 40 homer guy in the capitol city, as they have signed slugger Adam Dunn to a contract. Dunn is a big time power hitter, don't let his many strikeouts bother you. Their rotation may be headlined by the former Baltimore Orioles Ace Daniel Caberera. Two former Marlins are now in DC, outfielder Josh Willingham and pitcher Scott Olsen. The Nationals seem ready to let Joel Hanrahan take over the closer duties. This team seems ready to take the cellar, but Adam Dunn could be the team's saving grace.
FLORIDA MARLINS
The Florida Marlins are ready to revolve around shortstop phenom Hanley Ramirez. The Marlins are going through a growth spurt. The Marlins will have to sort out their mess of an infield? Will Dan Uggla stay at second? Who plays third base? Ditto with the void the Marlins have at first base. If the Marlins are able to answer these questions, they may place fourth in the division, behind Washington.
PHILLADELPHIA PHILLIES
The Phillies are coming off an amazing season. Nobody picked them to win the division, to beat Milwaukee in the NLDS (or the Dodgers in the NLCS), or to beat the Rays in the World Series. Sure enough, they did all that. The Phillies are going to defend their title on Opening Night against their division rival Atlanta Braves. Cole Hamels developed into the premier pitcher before our very eyes this season. Let's not forget about players like Shane Victorino, Chase Utley, and Ryan Howard. The Phillies biggest pitching strength last season was Brad Lidge, as he was 48 out of 48 in save chances in 2008. Could he do it again? The Phillies are prepared to defend their NL east crown, as they will play the Atlanta Braves Opening Night, the team that had a stronghold on the NL East for the past 14 seasons.
Speaking Of Those Atlanta Braves:
ATLANTA BRAVES
The Atlanta Braves used to be the model for the rest of the NL East to imitate and envy. Times have changed. The Braves are trying to recapture their glory years, as they signed sinkerballer Derek Lowe. They may have missed out on A.J. Burnett and Jake Peavy (along with longtime Braves Pitcher John Smoltz), but they are ready to let top prospects Tommy Hanson and Jo-Jo Reyes compete for the rotation. Jeff Francoeur will have to get back to his 2005 form, as they will be a make or break season for him. Chipper Jones turns 37 this season, could he have another great season left in him? The Braves may have lost an answer to their Left Fielder question when Ken Griffey Jr. returned home to the Seattle Mariners, but Jordan Schafer will hit the Big leagues very soon.
My Division Projections:
1. NEW YORK METS
They have to be tired of choking their season away, right?
2. Philladelphia Phillies
They are the defending World Series Champions, but I think they are poised for a dropoff. Not from Ryan Howard, of course.
3. Atlanta Braves
The Braves have some good young players who will make it on the Braves this season. They are still only the third best team in the NL East.
4. Washington Nationals
Could Adam Dunn make all the difference between fourth and last place?
5. Florida Marlins
The only thing certain for them is that Hanley Ramirez will play Shortstop this season.
In the next MLB Preview, we will look at the NL West. Does San Francisco now have a Super rotation? Are the Dodgers in trouble if they lose Manny Ramirez? Find out in the next MLB Preview!

Brett Favre Officially Retires From NFL
This season, Brett Favre did not play up to his high standards, so he has decided to officially hang up his cleats.
Favre said that he has filed the retirement paperwork, meaning that this retirement is his official retirement.
Brett Favre talks via teleconference regarding his retirement from the NFL.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen on how Favre came to this decision.
The next stop for Brett Favre will be the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
What are the Jets options at Quarterback? Now the decision to trade away Chad Pennington looks really foolish, so the Jets, if they are not sold on Kellen Clemens, will probably draft a quarterback with their first pick in the draft.

Report: Alex Rodriguez Used Steroids In 2003
According to a report on SI.Com, Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids back in 2003.
2003 was Alex Rodriguez's last season with the Texas Rangers, a year before he was traded to the New York Yankees.
So, A-Rod, the supposed "Savior of Baseball", the guy who was supposed to be the guy to pass Barry Bonds and become the all time homerun King, and now it is revealed that he also used steroids.
A-Rod's legacy, just like Bonds and Clemens, is now forever tarnished.
SI Reporter Roberts Recaps A-Rod Timeline
Scott Boras and Michael Young talk about the positive test.
Fernando Montes, former Director of Conditioning for the Texas Rangers, comments on Alex Rodriguez.
ESPN's Buster Olney talks about A-Rod's Positive Steroid Test.
T.J Quinn Reports that A-Rod Was Aware Of the Positive Test.

The Long Overdue Power Zone Superbowl Postgame
Super Bowl XLIII was an epic Super Bowl.
Back and fourth with lots of scoring from both teams.
Here's my long overdue analysis:
DEFENSIVE PLAY OF THE GAME: Without a doubt, the 100 yard interception return for a touchdown by James Harrison. Harrison showed why he was the NFL's defensive player of the year.
BIG BEN PLAYED MUCH BETTER HIS SECOND TIME AROUND
In Super Bowl XL, Big Ben was only playing not to lose. He played with poise and looked nearly flawless this second time around.
which leads me to...
SANTONIO HOLMES DESERVED HIS SUPER BOWL MVP AWARD
I have always felt that NFL Wide Recievers would be excellent tap dancers. After watching Santonio Holmes tap both feet down to haul in the game winning touchdown pass, I now believe that more than ever.
Back to the game, Holmes stepped up his game, and he had to. Particularly since Hines Ward was not 100 percent for this Super Bowl.
Two more points.
THE KURT WARNER FUMBLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REVIEWED
Without a doubt, the Kurt Warner "fumble" should have been reviewed. Forget the fact that I think his arm was moving forward as he got hit, the fact is that the Cardinals deserved one last shot to try to end the misery of their organization and their fans.
THE 2008 STEELERS ARE ONE OF THE NFL'S ALL TIME GREATEST TEAMS
I say this for more reasons than this ballclub just won an NFL record Sixth Super Bowl, but beacuse this group had played the NFL's toughest schedule, and they are holding the Lombardi Trophy. They were top notch in Offense, Defense, and Special Teams, and that starts with the head coach, Mike Tomlin.Mike Tomlin knows his stuff, and he has the Lombardi Trophy to prove it. I think in the future, Ben Rothelisberger will be mentioned in the same sentence as Terry Bradshaw. Why Not? He's already halfway to where Bradshaw is in terms of Super Bowl wins.
This Steelers team can only add to their legacy, especially if they repeat as Champions next season.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS: SUPER BOWL XLIII WORLD CHAMPIONS!
