The Dallas Mavericks, heralded by many as the best team in basketball, could be eliminated from further postseason play tonight by the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors in front of their fans tonight. I think we have learned two things from this series
1: The Warriors are a much different (and better) team in front of the home crowd.
Does home court advantage matter? Ask Golden State that and I'm sure they would undoubtedly say "yes." Golden State was feeding off the energy of their home crowd. All of their shots were falling, and the defense was relentless, refusing to let Dirk Nowitski or Jason Terry score many points, and if you take them away, the Mavericks are just not the same team.
2. The Mavericks were "ressurected" in Game Five by Dirk Nowitski.
Two minutes were remaining in Game Five and the Golden State Warriors had aon 9 point lead and looked like they were going to pull the amazing upset, but Dirk Nowitski and the Mavericks came alive, going on a 15 -0 run, with Dirk scoring 12 of the 15, and Dallas manages to stave off elimination for one more night.
Game six is tonight in Oakland, and the Mavericks will have to win the next two games if they want to advance.
Also tonight, the Utah Jazz play the Houston Rockets in game six of the series, as the winner of the series will go on to play the San Antonio Spurs.
