Week Seventeen NFL Preview

In The Final Regular Season NFL Preview, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots chase perfection Saturday Night against Michael Strahan and the New York Giants.

Welcome to the final NFL Preview of 2007. It is the final regular season week for football, and there are a couple of teams who will know if they are in or out of the playoff picture by the end of this week.

SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: PATRIOTS AT GIANTS 8:15 PM EST(THE GAME OF THE WEEK)
Already the first team to go 15-0 in a regular season, New England now tries to join the 1972 Miami Dolphins as the only teams to take an unbeaten record into the playoffs. Miami went 14-0 that season and won the Super Bowl, but this year's Dolphins could not spoil the Patriots' perfect run last Sunday and lost 28-7 at Foxborough.

New York (10-5) is locked into the No. 5 seed in the NFC and might want to rest some starters because it does not have a first-round bye. The Giants will visit Tampa Bay in a wild-card game next weekend.

No opponent has had a good answer defensively for the Patriots, whose 551 points leave them needing just six to break the league's single-season record set by the 1998 Minnesota Vikings. The only time New England failed to total more than 20 points or 300 yards of offense came two weeks ago against the New York Jets in horrendous weather conditions, but there is no rain, snow or strong wind in the forecast for Saturday.

A clear night would only make things easier on Brady, Moss and New England's vaunted air attack. Single-season league records are in sight for both Pro Bowlers, with Brady needing two touchdown passes to break Peyton Manning's record of 49 and Moss two TD receptions away from surpassing Jerry Rice's record of 22.

Another record within the Patriots' grasp is the one for consecutive regular-season victories. They already have tied their own league record by winning 18 straight.
Tom Brady enters this game 105 yards shy of Drew Bledsoe's 1994 club record of 4,555.

This Game is on Three, Count them, three stations! Along with the NFL Network, the game is being simulcast on both CBS And NBC, not to mention the game is available for viewing online! You have No Excuse if you miss this game! Records will fall like dominoes tonight, I Can't Wait!

NFL To Simulcast Saturday Night's Patriots-Giants Game

In An Unprecedented move,The NFL has arranged with broadcast television partners CBS and NBC for an unprecedented three-way national simulcast of the NFL Network telecast of Saturday night’s New England Patriots at New York Giants game.
The New England Patriots' shot at history Saturday night will be available to every television viewer in the country after months of wrangling.

The NFL has arranged with broadcast television partners CBS and NBC for an unprecedented three-way national simulcast of the NFL Network telecast of Saturday night’s New England Patriots at New York Giants game when the Patriots will try to become the first NFL team to go 16-0 in a regular season, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced today.

“We have taken this extraordinary step because it is in the best interest of our fans,” Commissioner Goodell said. “What we have seen for the past year is a very strong consumer demand for NFL Network. We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game. Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever.”

CBS and NBC will carry the NFL Network feed of the game with Bryant Gumbel and Cris Collinsworth in the broadcast booth. The game also will be televised by WCVB-ABC (Channel 5) in Boston, WMUR-ABC in Manchester, New Hampshire (Channel 9) and WWOR (Channel 9) in New York. The telecast begins at 8 p.m. ET with kickoff set at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Great Move by the NFL! I am hoping now more than ever that the Patriots go 16-0. Nobody has seen this since The Dolphins did this in 1972. I'll be watching CBS And NBC Saturday Night. I hope you will be too.

Oft-injured Mark Prior joins hometown Padres with $1 million, 1-year contract

Mark Prior and his hometown San Diego Padres agreed to a $1 million, one-year contract on Wednesday, making him the second postoperative pitcher to join the team in less than a month.

Prior, whose once-promising career has been sidetracked by various injuries, missed the 2007 season after undergoing right shoulder surgery on April 24. He last pitched for the Chicago Cubs in 2006, when he made nine starts and went 1-6 with a 7.21 ERA.

The 27-year-old right-hander, who was 18-6 with a 2.43 ERA in 2003, can earn another $4.5 million in performance bonuses.

"Mark Prior is a competitor and is working hard to regain the form that made him one of the great young pitchers in the game," Padres general manager Kevin Towers said. "We are confident he is going to help us in our rotation this season. It's exciting that Mark is coming home to San Diego to pitch for the Padres."

Prior graduated from University of San Diego High School and was the second pick in the June 2001 draft, out of Southern California. He is 42-29 with a 3.51 ERA in five big league seasons.

As A Cubs fan, I say Good Riddance. Good Riddance with the injuries and the time on the disabled list. To those of you who say Mark Prior's Mechanics are not the reason why he is injured all the time, here is Chris O' Leary, who has broken down Prior's Mechanics Frame By Frame. TENNESEE OVER KANSAS CITY

BALTIMORE AT MIAMI
The 1972 Miami Dolphins will be at the game, ready to suit up in case the score becomes too one handed in favor of Baltimore. This remains the most watched BALTIMORE OVER MIAMI

NEW YORK JETS AT NEW ENGLAND
If The Patriots win On Sunday, they will become only the second team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins to go 14-0 in the regular season. "The Spygate Game: Part Two" I Like to call it. This game will have the same result as the first game, with a Patriots Victory.
NEW ENGLAND OVER NEW YORK JETS

BUFFALO AT CLEVELAND
With a win and some help, Cleveland and Buffalo are both in the playoffs. This game has a playoff feel for both teams. "The Dawg Pound" will help give the Browns another victory.

It seems strange to me why a team like the Raiders, who are not in the Playoff picture, will not start JaMarcus Russell, the future of the Raiders. Colts win.
INDY OVER OAKLAND

LATE GAMES 4:15 PM EST
DETROIT AT SAN DIEGO
San Diego will push Detroit to two games below .500. The Panic button was pressed Last week before the Cowboy game, as Detroit was right at .500. Expect to see a resurgence of the "FIRE MILLEN!" Posters after this game.

A Big NFC East Rivalry game. Dallas cliched the division with their win last week. The Cowboys will beat the Eagles again.

Mitchell Investigation Reveals Many Names

The only person named more times in the George Mitchell report than Roger Clemens was Barry Bonds.

Roger Clemens turned out to be Exhibit A in the long-awaited Mitchell Report, an All-Star roster linked to steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs that put a question mark — if not an asterisk — next to some of baseball's biggest moments.

Barry Bonds, already under indictment on charges of lying to a federal grand jury about steroids, Miguel Tejada and Andy Pettitte also showed up Thursday in the game's most infamous lineup since the Black Sox scandal.

The report culminated a 20-month investigation by former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell, hired by commissioner Bud Selig to examine the Steroids Era.

Seven MVPs showed up and in all, 80-some players were fingered, enough to put an All-Star at every position.

No one was hit harder than Clemens, who denied the allegations. The seven-time Cy Young Award winner was singled out in nearly nine pages, 82 references by name. Much of the information on Clemens came from former New York Yankees major league strength and conditioning coach Brian McNamee.

"The illegal use of performance-enhancing substances poses a serious threat to the integrity of the game," the report said. "Widespread use by players of such substances unfairly disadvantages the honest athletes who refuse to use them and raises questions about the validity of baseball records."

While the records will surely stand, several stars could pay the price in Cooperstown, much the way Mark McGwire was kept out of the Hall of Fame this year merely because of steroids suspicion.

"If there are problems, I wanted them revealed," Selig said. "His report is a call to action, and I will act."

Mitchell said the problems didn't develop overnight and there was plenty of blame to go around.

"Everyone involved in baseball over the past two decades — commissioners, club officials, the players' association and players — shares to some extent the responsibility for the Steroids Era," Mitchell said. "There was a collective failure to recognize the problem as it emerged and to deal with it early on."

Mitchell recommended that the drug-testing program be made independent, that a list of the substances players test positive for be listed periodically and that the timing of testing be more unpredictable.

Eric Gagne, Gary Sheffield, Jason Giambi, Miguel Tejada, Troy Glaus, Gary Matthews Jr., Paul Byrd, Jose Guillen, Brian Roberts, Paul Lo Duca and Rick Ankiel were among other current players named in the report - in fact, there's an All-Star at every position. Some were linked to Human Growth Hormone, others to steroids.

ESPN and others rumored these names: Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Chuck Knoblauch, Miguel Tejada, Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, and Albert Pujols. Some of these names turned out to be on the report, but others were not.

Only Bonds was mentioned more than Clemens, 103 times, most of it recounting previous reports.

More than a dozen Yankees, past and present, were identified. Players were linked to doping in various ways — some were identified as users, some as buyers and some by media reports and other investigations.

"According to McNamee, from the time that McNamee injected Clemens with Winstrol through the end of the 1998 season, Clemens' performance showed remarkable improvement," the report said. "During this period of improved performance, Clemens told McNamee that the steroids 'had a pretty good effect' on him."

McNamee also told investigators that "during the middle of the 2000 season, Clemens made it clear that he was ready to use steroids again. During the latter part of the regular season, McNamee injected Clemens in the buttocks four to six times with testosterone from a bottle labeled either Sustanon 250 or Deca-Durabolin."

"It is very unfair to include Roger's name in this report," said Clemens' lawyer, Rusty Hardin. "He is left with no meaningful way to combat what he strongly contends are totally false allegations. Hee has not been charged with anything, he will not be charged with anything and yet he is being tried in the court of public opinion with no recourse. That is totally wrong."

"There has never been one shred of tangible evidence that he ever used these substances and yet he is being slandered today," said Hardin, who called McNamee a "troubled man."

Former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski also provided information as part of his plea agreement in a federal steroids case. Jose Canseco's book "Juiced" also was cited.

Mitchell urged Selig to hold off on punishing players in the report "except in those cases where he determines that the conduct is so serious that discipline is necessary to maintain the integrity of the game."

Selig said discipline will be determined in case by case basis, and actions will be taken "swiftly."

"Former commissioner Fay Vincent told me that the problem of performance-enhancing substances may be the most serious challenge that baseball has faced since the 1919 Black Sox scandal," Mitchell said in the 409-page report.

"The illegal use of anabolic steroids and similar substances, in Vincent's view, is 'cheating of the worst sort.' He believes that it is imperative for Major League Baseball to 'capture the moral high ground' on the issue and, by words and deeds, make it clear that baseball will not tolerate the use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs."

Rafael Palmeiro, who tested positive for steroids, was among the former players named. So were Kevin Brown, Benito Santiago, Lenny Dykstra, Chuck Knoblauch, David Justice, Mo Vaughn and Todd Hundley.

Mike Stanton, Scott Schoeneweis, Ron Villone and Jerry Hairston Jr. were among the other current players identified.

"We identify some of the players who were caught up in this drive to gain a competitive advantage," the report said. "Other investigations will no doubt turn up more names and fill in more details, but that is unlikely to significantly alter the description of baseball's 'steroids era' as set forth in this report."

"The illegal use in baseball of these substances also victimize the majority of players who don't use them. We heard from many former players who believe it was grossly unfair that the users were gaining an advantage," Mitchell said.

The report took issue with assertions that steroids were not banned before the 2002 collective bargaining agreement.

They had been covered, it said, since the 1971 drug policy prohibited using any prescription medication without a valid prescription, and were expressly included in the drug policy in 1991.

"Steroids have been listed as a prohibited substance under the Major League Baseball drug policy since then," the report said, although no player was disciplined for them until the 2002 labor agreement provided for testing.

Mitchell is a director of the Boston Red Sox, and some questioned whether that created a conflict, especially because none of their players were in the report.

"Judge me by my work," Mitchell said. "You will not find any evidence of bias, special treatment, for the Red Sox or anyone else. That had no effect on this investigation or this report, none whatsoever."

Giambi, under threat of discipline from Selig, was the only current player known to have cooperated with the Mitchell investigation.

"The players' union was largely uncooperative for reasons that I thought were largely understandable," Mitchell said.

As a response, it was announced Thursday that a Congressional subcommittee will hold a hearing on Jan. 23 relating to steroid use in professional sports, including the findings of the Mitchell report.

Miguel Tejada Has Found A New Home

Miguel Tejada was traded to the Houston Astros.

Miguel Tejada shows that patience pays off.

Two years after first requesting a trade, Tejada was traded from the Baltimore Orioles to the Houston Astros for five players on Wednesday, giving the former AL MVP a fresh start on a team looking to boost its lineup.

The Orioles got outfielder Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third baseman Michael Costanzo for the four-time All-Star shortstop.

Two winters ago, Tejada caused a stir in Baltimore when he said was unhappy with the Orioles' direction and wanted to be traded. He later backed off that stance.

At 31, the Orioles were worried about his range at shortstop. He had resisted their efforts to move him over to third base.

Wade said while Tejada may not cover quite as much ground as he once did, the Astros are confident he'll be solid in that spot. Adam Everett, Houston's shortstop this season, will become an unrestricted free agent by Thursday, Wade said.

In 2005, Tejada came under scrutiny after teammate Rafael Palmeiro tested positive for steroids. Palmeiro said Tejada gave him vitamin B-12 that might have been tainted with performance-enhancing drugs.

Tejada denied any steroid use and his name has not been linked to any wrongdoing.

The National League Central will not be the weakest division in Baseball next season. The Brewers have shored up their bullpen with David Riske, Eric Gagne, and Solomon Torres. The Astros have improved their offense with Miguel Tejada. The Cubs have improved their outfield, as it was announced today they signed Free Agent Japanese Outfielder Koskue Fukudome to a four year, $48 Million dollar contract.

The Three Horse Race for the National League Central has begun.

Bobby Petrino Resigns As Falcons Coach

One Day After Falcons Franchise Quarterback Michael Vick was sacked with a 23 month Prison term for dog fighting, Bobby Petrino has resigned as Falcons Coach.

Bobby Petrino resigned as Atlanta Falcons coach on Tuesday and will take the head coaching job at Arkansas, sources told FOXSports.com. He lasted only 13 games with the NFL team.

Petrino called a staff meeting late Tuesday afternoon, a meeting which last about 10 seconds, sources said.
At this point, the assistant coaches have not been told who will be coaching the team going forward.

Petrino did not address the team following his resignation. Players are livid with the way Petrino left the team and several called his handling of the situation "classless."

Petrino left Louisville to become Falcons coach in January for a five-year, $24 million contract, largely because Atlanta felt he could help star quarterback Michael Vick reach his full potential.

Of course, he had no idea what Vick was doing in his spare time.

This officially closes the book on this team and how they totally self-destructed after their Star QB was hit with jailtime. Good luck to whoever the next Falcons head coach will be, they are gonna have a whole world of problems on their hands.

Another turkey game on the schedule. Vikings win.
MINNESOTA OVER SAN FRANCISCO

LATE GAMES 4:15 PM EST
PITTSBURGH AT NEW ENGLAND (THE GAME OF THE WEEK)
New England looks to become the fourth team in the modern era to start an NFL season 13-0 and the first to win 16 straight regular-season games since the Steelers in 2004-05 when it hosts Pittsburgh on Sunday.

If there was a team equipped to end the Patriots' streaks, the Steelers (9-3) may fit the bill. After all, Pittsburgh ended New England's league-record 21-game winning streak -- 18 in the regular season -- on Oct. 31, 2004, when it was in the midst of winning 16 in a row. The Patriots returned the favor on Sept. 25, 2005, stopping the Steelers' streak with a come-from-behind win at Heinz Field.

Even though the Steelers are heavy underdogs this time heading into Foxborough, their top-ranked defense has allowed the fewest points, total yards and passing yards in the NFL. New England is No. 1 offensively in each of those categories.

The only teams to begin a season 13-0 since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger were 1972 Miami, 1998 Denver and 2005 Indianapolis.

New England can clinch home field advantage with a win and a Colts loss. With a win, the Patriots clinch a First Round bye. Pittsburgh clinches the AFC North with a win and a Browns loss. The Steelers clinch a Playoff berth with a win and a Titans loss.

I'll go with New England over Pittsburgh. New England has come close to losing twice. Maybe the third time they will trail and not be able to come back.
NEW ENGLAND OVER PITTSBURGH

CLEVELAND AT NEW YORK JETS
The Browns will be rooting for the Patriots while they play against the Jets. If Pittsburgh loses, Cleveland still has hope to win the AFC North. Cleveland will beat the Jets.
CLEVELAND OVER NEW YORK JETS

KANSAS CITY AT DENVER
This is a huge AFC West rivalry. Brodie Croyle has an arm, and he'll be going deep early and often.I'll go with Kansas City.
KANSAS CITY OVER DENVER

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL 8:15 PM EST
INDIANAPOLIS AT BALTIMORE
This is always a huge rivalry game. The Colts used to play in Baltimore. They packed up the team in the middle of the night and moved to Indianapolis in 1983. Baltimore fans have not forgiven Jim Irsay and the Irsay family for moving the Colts out of Baltimore. Baltimore played really well last week and they almost beat the Patriots. I expect them to play well again this week, but they will bring the hammer down against Peyton Manning and the Colts. Despite that, I think Indy will find a way to win and beat the Ravens.

Andruw Jones Heading To Chavez Ravine

Andruw Jones is heading to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Andruw Jones is following Joe Torre to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Gold Glove center fielder and the Dodgers reached a preliminary agreement Wednesday night on a $36.2 million, two-year contract that gives him the fifth-highest average salary in the major leagues.
Jones, the former Atlanta star who has won 10 straight Gold Gloves, is coming off one of the worst offensive seasons of his career. But if he rebounds, he could give the Dodgers a desperately needed boost in the middle of the lineup. He must pass a physical for the deal to be completed, a person familiar with the negotiations said, speaking on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made.

A five-time All-Star, Jones will receive a $12.2 million signing bonus, of which $5.1 million is payable next year, $2.1 million in 2009 and $5 million in 2010. He well get salaries of $9 million next year and $15 million in 2009, and also will receive a no-trade clause.

His agreement with the Dodgers was first reported by the Los Angeles Times on its Web site.

Jones hit .222 this season, his lowest average since he batted .217 in 106 at-bats as a rookie in 1996. His 26 home runs were his fewest since 1997. He drove in 94 runs for the Braves, but finished with a paltry .311 on-base percentage.

Had Jones finished with big numbers, he likely would have sought a longer-term agreement.

Andruw Jones moves Juan Pierre out of Center Field. His Power Numbers will decline, especially now he is at Dodger Stadium, which is a Pitcher's Paradise of a Ballpark. Still, good move by the Dodgers to sign a big name after missing out on the Miguel Cabrera Sweepstakes, even if he may not be worth the risk.

Huge Baseball Trade Went Down Last Night!

Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis are both heading to Detroit.

The 2006 American League Champions, the Detroit Tigers have just made a blockbuster deal with the Florida Marlins.

Florida and Detroit have reached a preliminary agreement that will send star third baseman Miguel Cabrera and left-hander Dontrelle Willis to the Tigers for a package of young players headlined by outfielder Cameron Maybin and left-hander Andrew Miller.
Detroit also sent catcher Mike Rabelo and right-handers Burke Badenhop, Eulogio De La Cruz and Dallas Trahern to Florida.

The deal immediately raises questions about the future of current Tigers third baseman Brandon Inge. Inge is set to make $6.3 million this season, $6.3 million in 2009 and $6.6 million in 2010. The acquisition of Cabrera and Willis will add close to $20 million to the Tigers' payroll.

Florida didn't even approach the Tigers until Tuesday morning. The Marlins told the Tigers they could have the two stars for those six players, then Detroit called back about two hours later and agreed.

This trade makes Detroit's lineup number one in Baseball. The Angels had the best lineup in Baseball with the addition of Torii Hunter until last night. The trade of Willis and Cabrera means there are no members of the 2003 Florida Marlins left with the team.

The Angels and Tigers right now are both Postseason Bound. Will these two meet up in the 2008 American League Championship Series?

Week Thirteen NFL Preview

Maurice Jones-Drew and the Jagaurs try to stop Peyton Manning and their division rival Colts.

Here Is Your Weeek Thirteen NFL Preview. On Thursday Night, Dallas Defeated The Packers 37-27.

ATLANTA AT ST. LOUIS 1:00 PM EST
Gus Frerrotte fumbled the snap with less than a minute to go last week to put the Rams back in the loss column. The Falcons are coming off a loss to the Colts last Thursday Night. St. Louis wins.
ST LOUIS OVER ATLANTA

BUFFALO AT WASHINGTON 1:00 PM EST
This Is Washington's first game since the death of Sean Taylor on Tuesday. I am sure the team will play with heavy hearts for the rest of the season. It diesn't even seem fair to pick a winner for this game, but I think Washington will play through their grief and beat the Bills.
WASHINGTON OVER BUFFALLO

DETROIT AT MINNESOTA 1:00 PM EST
This is a big NFC North Matchup. The Lions are second in the divison. The Vikings are last in the win column. A win by The Vikings would keep them on pace with Chicago. I'll go with Minnesota.
MINNESOTA OVER DETROIT

HOUSTON AT TENNESEE 1:00 PM EST
Tennesee has dropped their last two games. Expect the loss column to be avoided this week as Tennesee beats Houston.
TENNESEE OVER HOUSTON

JACKSONVILLE AT INDY 1:00 PM EST THE GAME OF THE WEEK
This is a fantastic game. The winner of this game puts The AFC South in a complete limbo. The Colts may be bannged up, and that is great news for the Jaguars, I think the Colts will win despite the injury bug.
INDY OVER JACKSONVILLE

NEW YORK JETS AT MIAMI 1:00 PM EST
The New York Jets are coming off a loss to Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. Miami is coming off an ugly loss to the Steelers 3-0 Monday Night. Ricky Williams is the latest Dolphin injured. Miami just cannot catch a break. Ted Ginn Jr. is the only playmaker on this sorry team. I'll go with the Jets.
NEW YORK JETS OVER MIAMI

SAN DIEGO AT KANSAS CITY 1:00 PM EST
Kansas City is coming off an ugly loss to Oakland 2-17. Kolby Smith rushed for 150 yards and it looked like Kansas City would win for a while. San Diego is coming off a loss to Jacksonville last week. I'll go with San Diego to beat Kansas City.
SAN DIEGO OVER KANSAS CITY

SEATTLE AT PHILLY 1:00 PM EST
This is a fantastic battle at the running back position as Brian Westbrook opposes Shaun Alexander. A.J. Feeley had a fantastic game for the Eagles last Sunday Night and if it wasn't for two poorly timed interceptions, we would once again be talking about a Quarterback controversy in Philly, as A.J. almost led the Eagles to victory over the Patriots last Sunday Night. I'll go with Philly because they are at home.
PHILLY OVER SEATTLE

SAN FRANCISCO AT CAROLINA 1:00 PM EST
Vinny Testaverde starts for the Panthers this week. The 49ers Defense came up huge last week against The Cardinals. Kurt Warner put up some huge fantasy number against them, as he threw for almost 500 yards against them. Tully Banta-Cain caught an interception in the endzone to win the game for the 49ers.

TAMPA BAY AT NEW ORLEANS 1:00 PM EST
This Is A Big NFC South Rivalry. Tampa Bay has beaten every team in the Conference, and they will beat the Saints At Home.
TAMPA BAY OVER NEW ORLEANS

CLEVELAND AT ARIZONA 4:05 PM EST
Who would have thought the Clveland Browns are in the running for a Playoff Spot? The Browns will beat The Cardinals to keep their playoff hopes alive.

DENVER AT OAKLAND 4:05 PM EST
Denver is coming off a tough loss to Chicago. Oakland is coming off an upset victory over the Chiefs. I'll go with Denver.
DENVER OVER OAKLAND

NEW YORK GIANTS AT CHICAGO 4:15 PM EST
Devin Hester had an amazing day as he returned a kick and a punt both for touchdowns. Devin Hester is the reason the Bears won and is the reason the Bears are still in the playoff hunt but they will need an amazing miracle to make the playoffs.Eli Manning looked terrible against the Vikings last week. He wasn't stepping up in the pocket, and he was letting the rush get to him. Chicago is going to blitz early and often, meaning Eli is in for more trouble in Chicago. For That Reason, I go with Chicago Over The Giants.
CHICAGO OVER NEW YORK GIANTS

CINCINNATTI AT PITTSBURGH 8:15 PM EST
Chad Johnson had three touchdown catches as Cincy defeated Tennesee. Pittsburgh is coming off an ugly game against The Dolphins, as Jeff Reed kicked the Game Winning Field Goal with 16 seconds left. It was the only points of the game as Pittsburgh won 3-0. That Monday Night Game for The Steelers is the Definition of Winning Ugly. They now have to play a Bengals Team that is finally starting to play as a team. I can't wait for this game. It's gonna be great. Bengals win.
CINCINNATI OVER PITTSBURGH

NEW ENGLAND AT BALTIMORE 8:30 PM EST
The New England Patriots escaped New England still undefeated. Wouldn't it be something if The Ravens, as inconsistent as they've been all season, were to beat The Patriots? It could happen, but I don't think it will. Patriots win Monday Night.

Big Game Tonight On NFL Network!

A pair of 10-1 teams will meet tonight at Texas Stadium when the Dallas Cowboys host the Green Bay Packers. The winner takes a one-game lead in the race for home-field advantage in the playoffs and the tiebreaker. Packers quarterback Brett Favre has never won in eight games on the Cowboys' home turf.

Many fans will not be able to see the game. It's on the NFL Network, which has been in a dispute with large cable providers. The network is available in about 35 million of the nation's more than 111 million homes with televisions.

With their five Super Bowl trophies and the "America's Team" label they treat like a birthright, it's easy to forget the Dallas Cowboys were once nothing more than wannabes who kept getting turned away by Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers.

To call their early meetings a rivalry wouldn't be fair to the Packers. They were the kings of the NFL and Tom Landry's Cowboys were just another team aiming for the crown.

Drama arrived in 1967 with championship games played on the very first day of the year and the very, very frigid finale. Both games were decided by one play in the final half-minute. Green Bay came through both times, then went on to beat the AFL champions in the first two Super Bowls.

The Dallas-Green Bay rivalry moves into a third generation Thursday night, when Favre and the 10-1 Packers visit Texas Stadium to face Tony Romo and the 10-1 Cowboys.

The winner moves a game up in the race for home-field advantage in the playoffs and gets the tiebreaker, making it a two-game lead with four to play. What it really means is that this game could determine whether the NFC championship — which could be yet another high-stakes Dallas-Green Bay game — is played at Texas Stadium or Lambeau Field.

Favre is 0-8 at Texas Stadium, having lost every regular season and postseason matchup from 1993-95, then again in '96, when the Packers were headed to their first Super Bowl title since the late '60s. He lost one more in '99 and hasn't been back since.

If You Can watch the game on NFL Network, Great! If You can't, listen to the game on the radio or go to a friend's house who has NFL Network. Just Keep up with the game! It's gonna be great!

My Pick for the game:

Redskins safety Sean Taylor dies a day after being shot at this home

Click On The Video Below To See Sean Taylor's Big Hit during last year's Pro Bowl.

Pro Bowl safety Sean Taylor died Tuesday after he was shot in his home by an apparent intruder, leaving the Washington Redskins in mourning for a teammate who seemed to have reordered his life since becoming a father.

The 24-year-old player died at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he had been airlifted after the shooting early Monday.

"It is with deep regret that a young man had to come to his end so soon," father Pedro Taylor said in a statement on behalf of the family. "Many of his fans loved him because the way he played football. Many of his opponents feared him the way he approached the game. Others misunderstood him, many appreciated him and his family loved him."

A string of mourners, including Taylor's father, visited the player's home and embraced outside. Authorities entered the home, but it was unclear what they were doing.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will honor Taylor's memory at all games this weekend.

Redskins coach Joe Gibbs said what he would remember most about Taylor was his excitement about playing football.

"God made him to play football," Gibbs said Tuesday during a news conference. "To me, he just loved and thrived on the competition part of it. ... Sean, he loved football. He loved these guys here."

Gibbs acknowledged it will be hard to concentrate on football this week.

"I don't know how we'll deal with it, except we'll all do it together," he said.

Fans already had begun a makeshift memorial by laying flowers on a field near the front entrance to the Redskins' practice facility in Ashburn, Va.

"This is a terrible, terrible tragedy," Redskins owner Daniel Snyder said.

He added the team would honor Taylor with a patch on the jersey and the No. 21 on the helmet.

Taylor's death comes nearly a year after Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was killed in a drive-by shooting following an argument at a Denver nightclub on Jan. 1. University of Miami defensive lineman Bryan Pata was shot to death in November 2006 several miles from Taylor's home in an unsolved killing.

Doctors had been encouraged late Monday when Taylor squeezed a nurse's hand, according to Vinny Cerrato, the Redskins' vice president of football operations. But family friend Richard Sharpstein said he was told Taylor never regained consciousness after being taken to the hospital.

Taylor, the fifth overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft following an All-American season at Miami, was shot early Monday in the upper leg, damaging the key femoral artery and causing significant blood loss.

Sean Taylor leaves behind his girlfriend and 18 month old daughter.

This Is a Very Sad Time for the Taylor Family & Friends, The Washington Redskins, the NFL, and all Football Fans. Rest In Peace, Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Week Twelve NFL Preview

Randy Moss and the New England Patriots face off against the Philladelphia Eagles, who will be without Donovan McNabb, on Sunday Night Football.

Here is your Weeek Twelve NFL Preview. Some of the Games from week twelve were settled on Thanksgiving Day, so, if you missed any of it, here's a recap.

Brett Favre led his Packers to victory over their division rival Detroit Lions 27-26.

Tony Romo led the Cowboys to victory 34-3 over the New York Jets.

Peyton Manning and the Colts won a Brutally Sloppy Game in Atlanta 31-13.

I went perfect on my Thanksgiving Day Picks. And Now, the rest of Week Twelve NFL Action awaits us.

Buffallo At Jacksonville 1:00 PM EST
Jacksonville is coming off a win over the San Diego Chargers. The Bills are coming off a 46 point Beatdown to their Division Rival Patriots. I'll go with Jacksonville, but Buffalo has not layed down this season.
JACKSONVILLE OVER BUFFALLO

Houston At Cleveland 1:00 PM EST
Both of these teams are coming off upset victories. Mario Williams won this version of the debate of "Who Really Should have gone Number One in the 2005 draft?" with his performance as the Texans beat The Saints. Cleveland is coming off an unbelievable and improbable win against the Ravens in which Phil dawson's Game tying 51 Yard Field Goal bounced off the left upright, then hit off the center crossbar, before coming to rest on the field. The Ravens walked off the field. They thought they won the game. A conference with the officials and the call was overturned.
Don't Believe Me? Watch The Video!

Cleveland went on to win 33-30 in Overtime.

Both of these teams have Moentum. Cleveland has more. Obviously. When An Improbable like that happens, many Sports fans look to the heavens. I'll go with Cleveland Over Houston, but I don't think we will ever see a kick like that ever again.
CLEVELAND OVER HOUSTON

Minnessota At New York Giants 1:00 PM EST
If Adrian Peterson starts, Minnesota's chances to win improve dramatically. The Vikings beat a bad Raiders team, and Chester Taylor had almost 200 yards rushing. The Giants beat the Lions last week, starting their two game losing streak. I'll go with New York over Minnesota.
NEW YORK GIANTS OVER MINNESOTA

New Orleans At Carolina 1:00 PM EST
Both of these teams are coming off losses. New Orleans lost to the Texans, and Carolina lost to the Green Bay Packers. One of these team's losing streaks is going to end.
NEW ORLEANS AT CAROLINA

Oakland At Kansas City 1:00 PM EST
A big AFC West Rivalry. Kansas City needs a win to keep pace with Denver for the AFC West lead.
KANSAS CITY OVER OAKLAND

Seattle At St. Louis 1;00 PM EST
I'll pick Seattle Over St. Louis. Sean Alexader and Steven Jackson will be equally competing for rushing yards,
SEATTLE OVER ST.LOUIS

Tennesee At Cincinnatti 1:00 PM EST
The Titans and Bengals are both coming off two straight losses. Vince Young can be dangerous if his line protects good for him. Same with Carson Palmer. I'll go with Tennsesee over cincy.
TENNESEE OVER CINCY

Washington At Tampa Bay 1;00 PM EST
Tampa Bay beat down Atlanta last week. Washington lost to the Cowboys last week. Tamoa Bay beats The Redskins.
TAMPA BAY OVER WASHINGTON

San Francisco At Arizona 4:05 PM EST
This is a big NFC West Rivalry. If Arizona beats the 49ers, they keep their Playoff Hopes Alive. Arizona wins.
ARIZONA OVER SAN FRANCISCO

Denver At Chicago 4:15 PM EST
This is a meaningless game. I said Chicago had to win last week against the Seahawks to keep hope alive. They didn't win. The Bears and Broncos are both out of the playoffs. I'll pick Chicago because they're at home.
CHICAGO OVER DENVER

Baltimore At San Diego 4:15 PM EST
Nothing has gone right for the Ravens this season. They will not make the playoffs this season. San Diego will also be on the outside looking in. I'm going to hype up the match like this: Last Year, these two teams were expected to meet up in the Playoffs.

Arkansas Upends LSU's National Championship Dreams

Louisiana State quarterback Matt Flynn sits on the field after throwing an interception on a 2-point conversion attempt in the third period of overtime of a football game with Arkansas in Baton Rouge, La., Friday, Nov. 23, 2007. Arkansas won 50-48.

Houston Nutt needed a big win to attempt to save his job. This Victory may be the one that does it.

LSU's national title hopes were crushed by a Heisman-worthy performance. Darren McFadden rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another to lift Arkansas to a 50-48, three-overtime victory over the top-ranked Tigers on Friday.

Peyton Hillis also scored three TDs, the last in the third overtime. Felix Jones ran for the critical 2-point conversion to make it 50-42 Razorbacks (8-4, 4-4 SEC).

LSU (10-2, 6-2) responded when Matt Flynn found Brandon LaFell for a 9-yard TD, but Matterral Richardson intercepted the 2-point conversion attempt, and Arkansas' bench emptied onto the field in triumph.

McFadden, last year's Heisman Trophy runner-up, rushed for 206 yards 32 carries and now has 1,725 yards rushing this season. No doubt there are West Virginia and Ohio State fans who'd vote for McFadden for Heisman if they could.

By knocking off LSU, which was in first place in the BCS standings, Arkansas boosted the national championship hopes of West Virginia and Ohio State.

For Those Of You who missed the exciting finish to the game, Here It Is!

Some Baseball News!

Torii Hunter's Days as a Minnesota Twin Are Over.

Free-agent center fielder Torii Hunter signed a five-year, $90 million contract late Wednesday night with the Los Angeles Angels.
Hunter, considered the top free-agent center fielder on the market, spurned five-year offers from the Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals.

Hunter, 32, who hit .287 with 28 home runs and 107 RBI last season for the Minnesota Twins, is the Angels' second big acquisition this week. The Angels traded for starter Jon Garland of the Chicago White Sox on Monday in exchange for shortstop Orlando Cabrera.

The acquisition of Hunter will move Gary Matthews Jr. from center field to right field and Vladimir Guerrero to the DH spot.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
