(MLB) Big Unit's Days in Bronx Numbered?

The New York Yankees are engaged in trade talks with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Diego Padres, and they are reportedly dangling Randy Johnson "The Big Unit" as trade bait. I know the Yankees are trying to recover from their disasterous (in their mind) first round elimination by the Detroit Tigers, but trying to get rid of a guy like Randy Johnson or Alex Rodriguez is NOT the answer. What all of the Yankee fans that are calling for A-Rod or Randy Johnson to leave the Bronx is that this Yankee team was left for dead in June, banged up with injuries and the Red Sox had a huge lead in the Ameican League East. However, George Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman helped engineer a genius trade with the Philladelphia Phillies to bring over much needed offense in Bobby Abbreu and much needed pitching in the form of Cory Lidle. (R.I.P Cory Lidle 1971-2006) This Yankee team then caught fire, capping off their incredible comeback with a 5 game sweep of their hated rivals- the Boston Red Sox.- This Yankee team had finished the season wih the best record in the American League, and a lot of people were picking them to sweep the Tigers and have their 27th World Series Pennant.

The Yankees made not have made it to the ALCS, but they may not even make it to the postseason if they trade away Randy Johnson and Alex Rodriguez.

(NFL) It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Oh, the weather outside may have been frightful, but there was no reason to fret as there was plenty of great football on today. In the first game, Jeff Garcia led the rejuvenated Philadelphia Eagles past the slunking Dallas Cowboys 21-7. In the second game, Chad Pennington and Joey Harrington were both engaged in a battle, until Chad Pennington's Jets defeated the Dolphins 13 to 10.

It's the Hap-Happiest Season of All! Football Season on Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you all got everything you wanted for Christmas. Enjoy the football games that are on. I know I will .

My Predictions: Cowboys and Jets win.

(NFL) The OTHER Football Game on Christmas Day

Believe it or not, there is more than one football game on Christmas Day, however, the game on Christmas Night is not getting as much publicity as the Eagles Cowboys Game. Monday Night, the New York Jets will try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive as they take on the Miami Dolphins, a team also trying to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The Dolphins (obviously) did not help their playoff chances when they were shut out 21-0 by the Buffalo Bills. On the Jets sideline, "Mangenius" (the nickname for Jets head Coach Eric Mangini) and his squad are coming off a 26-13 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

I hope everyone enjoys the games that are on, as they are sure to be very good.

(MLB) Sammy Sosa to return to Big Leagues?

Sammy Sosa is training again to return to the big leagues. The 38 year old slugger, who is 12 shy of 600 homeruns, can hear the cheers of "Sammy! Sammy! Sammy!" in his head. Sammy says he hasn't felt this good since his rookie season, and also said that he has recieved calls from teams interested in signing him. Sammy has not played since the 2005 season, where he hit .221, hit 14 homeruns, and drove in 45 runs. In the 2006 season,Sammy Sosa turned down a $500,000 non-guaranteed contract from the Washington Nationals. However, Sosa said that if he got an offer this time, he would not turn it down because he wants to return to the Major Leagues. Sosa won the National League's Most Valuable Player award in 1998 (the season where he was neck and neck with Mark McGwire for the Single Season Homerun Chase.)

Sammy Sosa wants to return to the Major Leagues, and I hope he gets an opprutunity to come back. Sure, this may be some nostalgia on my part because I saw Sammy play at Wrigley Field, but anyway, I think Sammy hitting #600 would be good for him, for his team, and for baseball, and it could possibly put some of the Barry Bonds fiasco down in the Bay Area on the back burner for a little bit.

(NFL) Eagles vs Cowboys Christmas Day

The Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys will lay it all on the line on Christmas Day, as this game is for the NFC East title and a playoff spot.

(MLB) Cubs May FINALLY be getting the Message?

The Chicago Cubs have had one of the most productive offseasons this season. First, after signing new manager Lou Pinnella, the Cubs started by re-signing relief pitcher Kerry Wood and backup catcher Henry BlancoThe Cubs also resigned their best player, third baseman Aramis Ramirez. The Cubs then filled a hole at second base by signing former Texas Ranger Mark DeRosa. The Cubs then got some bullpen help by trading away Minor League starting Pitcher David Aardsma to the Cubs Crosstown Rivals, the White Sox, for Reliever Neal Cotts. The Cubs then got a huge boost offensively by signing the biggest name in Free Agency to the biggest contract in the history of the Franchise. The Cubs then decided to shore up their banged up starting rotation by signing Starting Pitchers Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis in Free Agency. And the Cubs may not be finished yet. Reports are flying that Free Agent Outfielder Cliff Floyd (formerly of the New York Mets) is close to signing with the Cubs.

The Cubs may FINALLY get the message that their fans are sick of this team being without a Championship for 98 years, and me personally, as a Cubs fan, am glad to see it.

I will end this with one final note: Go Cubbies!!!

Iverson To Nuggets (NBA)

Allen Iverson was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets envision the guy who will forever be remembered for "We're not talking about the game. We're talking about practice." as being able to share the ball with another fellow ballhog in Carmelo Anthony. If the two can coexist, the Nuggets will be VERY Dangerous.
